Professional Experience

Mr. Whelan is a Director at B6 Real Estate Advisors, focusing on investment sales in the Manhattan neighborhoods of Inwood and Washington Heights.

Prior to joining B6, Mr. Whelan was an investment sales agent in Marcus & Millichap’s Manhattan office. During his time there, Brian won the firm’s pace-setter award in 2017. As a key member of a north-east investment sales team, he evaluated, marketed and transacted consistently on commercial real estate properties with his team.

Before his role as an investment sales agent, Mr. Whelan excelled as a salesperson in New York City’s ultra-competitive residential sales and leasing market. Mr. Whelan also worked as a Project Manager for JP Morgan Chase, and held financial and business development positions with New York City construction companies. These experiences uniquely position him to deliver a level of service which goes above and beyond that of a traditional broker.

Mr. Whelan is committed to improving his client’s businesses by delivering an unparalleled level of advisory and brokerage services, allowing his clients to achieve the highest returns on their real estate assets. A tenacious self-starter, Mr. Whelan has demonstrated a passion and talent for deal-making through consistent and effective transaction execution on behalf of his clients.

Originally from Ireland, Mr. Whelan graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the National University of Ireland Galway, before emigrating to New York in 2010.

Outside of the office, Mr. Whelan is an active networker and served on the board of directors for the Irish Network New York City.  In 2016, he founded the Hudson Golf Society, a golf club which boasts a membership base throughout the Tri-State region. He currently serves as the club’s President.
