Paul J. Massey, Jr.

Paul Massey was born in Boston, Massachusetts where he attended the Roxbury Latin School. He graduated from Colgate University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, in 1983.

Mr. Massey began his career at CBRE and soon became head of the market research department in Midtown Manhattan, then as an investment sales broker.

He founded Massey Knakal Realty Services together with his colleague Robert A. Knakal, whom he met at CBRE. The company became the New York metropolitan area’s dominant commercial investment sales brokerage firm. With over 225 employees serving more than 200,000 property owners, Massey Knakal Realty Services was consistently ranked New York’s #1 investment sales firm in volume for 14 consecutive years.

As CEO of Massey Knakal, he led the development of the firm’s strategic initiatives including geographic expansion as well as the growth of the firm’s service lines. At the end of 2014, Cushman & Wakefield acquired Massey Knakal and Mr. Massey was appointed President, New York Investment Sales.

In 2017, Paul Massey ran as a Mayoral Candidate for New York City, primarily focusing on education, housing and homelessness while also providing solutions for how to improve quality of life in the city.

In July 2018, Mr. Massey and his partners launched a new commercial brokerage firm, B6 Real Estate Advisors, short for “Building By Building, Block By Block”. The investment sales and capital advisory firm specializes in middle-market ($1-$200 million). The firm employs a distinct Territory Network model, that ensures sub-market expertise for its agents along with an owner-aligned philosophy and a technology-forward platform.

Mr. Massey is a member of numerous organizations including REBNY and The Lower East Side Tenement Museum. He is also an amateur boxer and an avid skier.  He and his wife, Gretchen, have three children; son, Paul III, and daughters, Sarah and Greta. He resides in Larchmont, NY.

Adrian Mercado

As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Mercado is responsible for the strategic growth of the firm as well as oversight of the day-to-day activities of the firm’s operations team. He is also responsible for the design and implementation of the company’s insights strategy and data team, comprised of the engineering and research departments.

Mr. Mercado began at B6 in July 2018. Upon his hiring, he served as Chief Information Officer. Prior to joining B6, Adrian founded Alero Advisors, a data strategies advisory firm that focused on the real estate technology sector. Before Alero, he worked as Head of Product of Urbint, a data intelligence company focused on helping cities become more resilient.

Adrian has a long history of work in real estate with experience as Managing Director of Research in the Capital Markets Group at Cushman & Wakefield from 2015 to 2016. In this position, he was responsible for the department’s day-to-day activities and was a member of the Global Data and Technology Strategy team. From 2010 to 2015, he served as Vice President of Research at Massey Knakal Realty Services.

He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut. He currently serves as an advisor for StreetWire and SpaceIt.

Alex Woodlief

Alex Woodlief is a Director of Investment Sales with B6 Real Estate Advisors specializing in Manhattan’s Midtown South market. Alex has specific expertise with value-add loft office, commercial development and ground lease transactions. In his career, he has been involved in the underwriting, sale and capital raising for over $4-billion of New York City commercial real estate.

Alex joined B6 from Kaufman Investments, the institutional acquisition arm of the Kaufman Organization, one of New York’s oldest and largest private owners of office buildings. At Kaufman, he was responsible for sourcing new investment opportunities, managing landlord partnerships and business development initiatives.

Prior to Kaufman, Alex was an associate in the capital markets group of Cushman & Wakefield where he focused on middle-market investment sale transactions in Manhattan. Earlier, he raised capital for real estate credit and equity strategies for REIT sponsor American Realty Capital. Prior, he served as Asset Manager for SigEp National Housing, a boutique owner/operator and lender specializing in student housing assets nationwide.

Alex graduated from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Political Science. He is a licensed real estate salesperson in New York and has held his FINRA Series 7 & 63 licenses.

Brock Emmetsberger

Mr. Emmetsberger is a Senior Managing Director at B6 Real Estate Advisors where he oversees investment sales in the Chelsea and Greenwich Village territory. Prior to joining B6 Mr. Emmetsberger was a Managing Director in the Capital Markets Group of Jones Lang LaSalle, where he focused on investment sales in downtown Manhattan. He is actively marketing properties on an exclusive basis to prospective investors and working closely with owners to successfully close transactions. Since 2004, he has been involved in more than $1,700,000,000 worth of property transactions in New York City (160 properties sold). Previously, Mr. Emmetsberger was First Vice President of Sales at Massey Knakal Realty Services, which was acquired by Cushman & Wakefield on December 31, 2014.

On an annual basis, he regularly participates in 20% of all commercial property sales transactions in Chelsea and has set records repeatedly for multifamily and land pricing in the neighborhood. In recent years he has been retained by multiple principals of real estate brokerages to sell their personally owned commercial properties. His most notable 2020 transactions prior to joining B6 include the sale of 340 West 23rd Street for $7,550,000 and 56 West 22nd Street for $48,500,000. Additionally in 2020, Mr. Emmetsberger was responsible for four of the eleven properties sold in the Chelsea neighborhood, amongst other sales he completed in New York City .

Born in Manhattan and raised in Stamford, Connecticut, Mr. Emmetsberger and his wife are 16-year residents of New York City.

Mr. Emmetsberger graduated from Miami University‘s Richard T. Farmer School of Business with a BS in Business, majoring in Finance. He completed a study abroad program in Europe focusing on international account principles and business law. Mr. Emmetsberger also spent a semester at the Dolibois European Center in Luxembourg.

Chris Brodhead

A true believer in the “building-by-building, block-by-block” approach to sales, Christoffer “Chris” Brodhead leads B6 Real Estate’s efforts in the Midtown West neighborhood.

An industry veteran, with over two decades of experience selling properties in Midtown West, Chris has sold over 100 buildings in more than 85 transactions in this neighborhood. His expertise and understanding of this local market is unparalleled.

Previously, he was a Managing Director at Cushman & Wakefield and at Massey Knakal Realty Services, which was acquired by Cushman & Wakefield on December 31, 2014.

A native New Yorker, Chris grew up on Manhattan’s West Side and spent much of his youth playing basketball in the area’s parks and playgrounds. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, followed by a Master’s degree in Urban Planning and Development from the Institut Français d’Urbanisme in Paris, France. After working in France and Washington, D.C. for Special Olympics International, he joined Massey Knakal Realty Services in 1999.

He has received the B6 Real Estate Advisors EPIC Award for work that embodies the company’s values of excellence, passion, integrity and collaboration. In the past, he received numerous awards from Massey Knakal for excellence and sales success.

When not walking and working the proverbial beat in Hell’s Kitchen/Midtown West, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons, gardening, fishing, and volunteering as an EMT.

Christina Chao

Ms. Chao is Vice President of Executive Operations at B6 Real Estate Advisors where she works directly for Paul Massey, CEO of B6, focusing on marketing operations, agent and team coordination, and investor relations.

Prior to joining B6, Ms. Chao worked at Savills North America as Director of Business Development for the Northeast region, CBRE as Head of Marketing for New York City, and held marketing roles at Condé Nast and JPMorgan Chase prior to commercial real estate. While at Savills and CBRE, Ms. Chao specialized in servicing technology clients and venture capital funds. She has a strong background in sourcing deals, creative strategy, operational execution, brand marketing, business development, and investor relations.

Ms. Chao is a graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, GA, and was a member of Delta Delta Delta and the sailing team. She is a licensed real estate salesperson in New York, and an active member of the New York Junior League, REBNY, the Central Park Conservancy, and the Urban Land Institute. In her free time, she enjoys going to art museums, practicing yoga, planning events, surfing, skiing, traveling, and trying new restaurants.

Cory Rosenthal

With nearly 20 years of experience in the New York commercial real estate market, Mr. Rosenthal is an established leader in the industry with a proven track record of enhancing operations, developing business strategy, and managing sales teams. As Chief Revenue Officer at B6 Real Estate Advisors, Mr. Rosenthal is responsible for managing the firm’s sales team and its revenue pipeline. He also plays a key role in recruiting and contributing to B6’s technology-enabled platform to enhance the company’s growth.

Prior to joining B6, Mr. Rosenthal served as the Chief Operating Officer of New York City Capital Markets at JLL from 2018 to 2022. During his tenure at JLL he had operational oversight of the platform consisting of 100+ producers, analysts and staff. Before this, he served as a Senior Managing Director in the Capital Markets Group at Cushman & Wakefield. In his role at Cushman & Wakefield he worked to identify and improve agent and business processes throughout the organization to increase profitability for the firm. Mr. Rosenthal began his career at Massey Knakal Realty Services in 2003 where he advanced from an associate role working with Paul Massey to Vice President of Sales focused on Carnegie Hill and Yorkville. In 2010, Mr. Rosenthal transitioned to Vice President of Executive Operations. In addition to his Senior Management team duties, Mr. Rosenthal undertook operational responsibilities related to the CEO’s office as well as maintaining departmental oversight of the firm’s various divisions and salesforce. He was then promoted in 2013 to Senior Vice President of Brokerage & Corporate Operations where he oversaw sales team management and maintained operational responsibilities related to the growth of the organization – including leading the firm’s training program.

Mr. Rosenthal has been directly involved in transactions, spanning all commercial real estate asset classes, totaling an aggregate consideration of approximately $700 million.

Mr. Rosenthal graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Colgate University.

Halisson DeAlmeida

As the Director of Technology Systems, Halisson manages B6’s internal broker products working alongside the Executive Team in implementing the strategic direction of B6’s internal broker products. Hal is directly responsible for designing and managing the technology platform considered the ‘hub’ of our broker’s daily life, B6 CRM. Working with the engineering and product teams, he manages the build and improvement of technology infrastructure to maximize efficiencies across the brokerage. Additionally, Hal acts as the liaison between the engineering department and our sales teams.

Before joining B6, Hal was a technology consultant specializing in CRM integrations and technology system infrastructure. Although he has worked on projects spanning multiple industries, Hal’s focus and industry of choice is commercial real estate. As a consultant, he worked on projects for some of the country’s top commercial real estate brokerages, designing and delivering custom systems to meet each firm’s unique challenges.

Hal graduated from Western Connecticut State University’s Ancell School of Business with a BBA in Marketing.

Jameson Hill

Mr. Hill is an Associate at B6 Real Estate advisors where he works alongside Senior Managing Director Brock Emmetsberger, concentrating on investment sales in the Chelsea and Greenwich Village.

Prior to joining B6 in June of 2022, Jameson was Investment Sales Associate at Jones Lang LaSalle. His role was centered around transacting middle market investment properties in the Upper West Side and Harlem neighborhoods. Before that he worked at Devon Construction LLC where he experienced a wide array of construction and renovation services. In addition, Jameson interned with Levitan Commercial Real Estate, focusing on boutique retail brokerage in Williamsburg.

Jameson graduated from Connecticut College in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in economics. During his time on campus, he was a member of the Varsity Men’s Lacrosse Team and Club Hockey team.

Currently living in NYC, Jameson loves fishing, mountain biking, playing paddle tennis, and exploring all New York has to offer.

Jonathan Buerger

Jonathan is a Director at B6 Real Estate Advisors where he oversees investment sales in the East Village territory. In 2021, Jonathan participated in the sale of over $28 million worth of commercial real estate. Known for establishing and creating relationships with industry leaders locally and internationally, Jonathan established himself as valuable resource, guiding his clients through the complex and competitive New York market.

Prior to joining B6 in January 2020, Jonathan attended the University of Bristol, UK where he graduated with a Master of Science degree in Finance & Investment. In Bristol, Jonathan was part of the University Rowing Team, one of the top ten rowing clubs in the UK.

Jonathan was first exposed to real estate during an internship at Cushman & Wakefield where he worked directly for the global CEO. Prior to that he gained valuable experience at firms such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, and HSBC.

Born and raised in Cologne, Germany, Jonathan earned his Bachelors degree in International Business Management from the European Business College in Duesseldorf.

When not selling real estate, Jonathan can be found going for a run along Hudson River, watching his favorite soccer club from Cologne, or volunteering for Breaking Ground, an organization that provides housing and support for people who were experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
